Reason of Mahadasha in Vedic Astrology

In Vedic Astrology moon is responsible for Mahadasha. It depends upon the master planet in that nakshatras in which moon is present at the time of the birth of native. Mahadasha is depends upon the movement of planets in natives horoscope. It is known to us by the position of moon.

Each nakshatras has master planets which is shown below:

The sequences of planets which are responsible for Mahadasha are as follows—

Sun, Moon, Mars, Rahu, Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury, Ketu, Venus

As since after birth natives life is ruled by these nine planets therefore ruling power of these planets cannot be ignored. In Vedic Astrology we can know about incidence of life and affect of benefic and malefic planets on native’s life. In Horoscope of native it is necessary to see Mahadasha according to his time of birth. Good and evil incidence in native’s life occurs due to a particular planet. Each planet has its own quality and nature therefore according to nature and quality planet is responsible for Mahadasha. On seeing the horoscope of native astrologer try to tell him about Mahadasha in life and how will he has to face happiness and sorrows in life. For every native Mahadasha is of different types and for different time. Ashtottary Mahadasha is for 108 years, Vishottary Mahadasha is for 120 years, Yogini etc. The Vishottary Mahadasha is more important to know about incidence of life.

For any native Mahadasha is depends upon the sequence of planets which is given above. If, during the native’s birth the moon is in Aadra nakshatras then native is having Mahadasha of Rahu because Rahu is the master planet of Aadra nakshatras. After that he will have Mahadasha of Jupiter and then Saturn in this way native will have Mahadasha due to movements of planets by sequence.

 Each native’s life is having Vishottary Mahadasha for 120 years. All the planets are divided according to 120 years in mahadfasha. Each planet have time period for Mahadasha in native’s horoscope which is shown below—
