Why Arranged Marriages are more Successful than a Love Marriages?

Marriage is a beautiful journey of two individuals who are unknown & after tying the knot, they would sail in the same boat and be considered to be united for the rest of their lives. Marriage is supposed to be an essential ritual to be followed by every individual. In an Arranged Marriage, partners are chosen by the family, while in case of Love Marriage, individuals want their own partners. 

Marriage is all about fine-tuning with each other’s imperfect personalities. This ride would not be so comfortable for the individuals to tackle since they both are new at their new responsibilities. Marriage seems lovely when there are two unlike poles in the relationship. Yes, as per the Magnetic Law “Unlike Poles attract each other & Similar Poles repel”.

• Because there is involvement of more people, there is less chance of conflict between the couple, and even if there is a conflict, it will be conclusively resolved and mitigated.

• Involvement of families makes a lot of difference since the couples are new to married life. They both make mistakes which are corrected by their elders.

• In Arranged Marriage, the couple gets a platform to learn about how to manage responsibilities, how to assess the future complexities of life that may arise, under the supervision of the parents.

• When the entire family is involved in nurturing the newly blossoming relationship, there is definitely less pressure on the couple.

 Love Marriage

• Both individuals know each other already and mutually decided to be in an uninterrupted relation.

• The couple holds the responsibility of their choice, and the blame in future lies only on the couple and no one else.

• The couple is new to the relationship, and families get involved with each other after marriage. Compatibility of the families is also accountable for the broken love marriage.

• In Love Marriage, usually, the couple gets to see different caste, religion, cultures, and rituals to be followed. These are the few areas where there is a compatibility issue with the family. Slowly the differences arise between the couple too.

As per the statistics, 74% of young Indians prefer Arranged Marriage. My firm belief is- current generation should adhere to Arranged Marriages rather getting involved in Love Marriages. Though Love seems wonderful when the couple alone is involved, when Love takes the name of “Love Marriage” there comes the family involvement too. Here is when the couple needs to be more cautious about the family compatibility. Love or Arranged, marriages get successful only when the families are happy too, and that situation comes when there is good compatibility between families too.
